Productivity... it's a struggle!

I don't usually do journal type posts but I feel like a post about productivity certainly warrants one.
The Oxford Dictionary’s definition of productivity is “the state or quality of being productive”, “the long-term productivity of land" or even “the effectiveness of productive effort, especially in industry, as measured in terms of the rate of output per unit of input.”.
Productivity is something I struggle with all the time, and I know I'm not alone. Whether it be distracting myself on social media or Netflix or even finding the excuse to do anything other than what I'm supposed to do happens much more frequently than I should care to admit.
My problem with productivity is being motivated to complete tasks that I don’t necessarily want to complete. There’s no doubt that I give in my work on its deadline, but it isn’t always my best work and oftentimes I find myself wishing I had spent more time on it or brainstorming. If I’m the only teenager, or person for that matter, out there that is like this… then wow, how do you do it because I struggle all the time?
I could easily tell you what everyone else would tell you, to exercise, go to sleep early, eat healthy and make a schedule, which is the post I was going to make. But how realistic are these things really? As an advice blogger I should be telling you exactly what to do but I’m hoping that with this article, people don’t feel guilty about not being productive and instead think about what may be the cause for such a lack of productivity.
I’ve tried everything science says to do, that by building a routine surrounding sleep, exercise and eating healthy your productivity will go straight up. Reality is that I’ve tried all these things and though they may sometimes work, most times I find myself back at square one. Since as long as I can remember I’ve made schedules for my day to day life and school life, and despite the schedule being a success and everything being done when set to be done, I find myself saying “5 more minutes” or “10 more minutes” 10 times, which eventually turns into hours of procrastinating. It’s certainly unintended, but it does happen.
To be completely honest I struggle with coming up with blog ideas at times and figuring out what exactly I want to share.
The word productivity is often associated with work and duty, and it’s something that in short means working efficiently and with nothing stopping you. There are some people who excel at this and take careful time each day to be productive, and some who are quite the opposite and are never productive. Then there are those in the middle, like me, who are extremely productive some days, and other days can’t seem to do one thing the way we hoped we would, in the time we hoped it would take.
Despite all these struggles, the lack of productivity is something everyone can get past. If you take anything from this post, take this... you don’t always have to be perfect, but trying your best is what truly counts, even if you don’t think it. A plausible reason is because of your personality and how long you can handle doing something, so Juliane’s post is certainly helpful!
