Here are some of the Energy Aiders top tips to better improve your art!
1. Finding inspiration
Inspiration can strike at any time. For many it comes only late at night and for others it can come at seemingly random times. However, a big problem for many artists out there is art block and a simple trick to avoid this is by making note of things you find inspiring in the form of thumbnail sketches, which are basically small “abbreviated drawings” that may look something like this:
With this technique you can later go back to these sketches when you feel like you're out of inspiration.
Note: you can also add a small description if you're worried about not understanding them later on or want to add something into the art that you didn't include on the sketch.
Another way of fighting off your art block is by brainstorming and mindmapping, words and ideas to, in a way, make your own inspiration.
NOTE: if you are really struggling to start your mind map I suggest you start out with the key words:
COLOUR [monochrome, red and black, blue and green]
PLANETS & THE UNIVERSE [jupiter, mars, aliens, galaxies]
ANCIENT ROME, JAPAN, AFRICA [masks, traditional clothing with a modern twist]
FAUNA & FLORA [tropical plants and flowers, tropical birds]
SEAS & OCEANS [mermaids, deep sea creatures, coral reefs]
2. Choose your weapon: paint, pen or plasticine
Your medium of choice is an important part of improvement within art. For example, you could be very skilled with coloured pencils but if you decide to switch to paint without any experience you most likely will not be able to create anything comparable to your artworks made with coloured pencils.
3. Rules are made to be broken
Once you know all the basic rules of art, you can start getting into the fun part, STYLIZATION. This is basically when you can start changing the proportions and/or colours of your art to develop a more unique and distinctive style.

4. Practise makes perfect
As you already know an important part of improvement in any area of your life is practise, and art is no exception to this rule, meaning that you unfortunately cannot master this skill overnight. So, now what? Well, I recommend you start by buying a sketchbook and drawing in it every day for a month (even when you're going through art block). it takes dedication and time and can sometimes be discouraging because progress seems slow, but once you look back at the end, I find that doing this helps put things into perspective because you can see the gradual improvements being made.
